Duccio di Buoninsegna, Sienese Master Painter

Through his astonishing virtuoso technique and original blending of the latest Byzantine and French Gothic artistic styles, Duccio di Buoninsegna introduced a new sensibility into Sienese panel painting between 1278 and 1319.
