Rebuilding Ypres

  Ypres is an ancient town, known to have been raided by the Romans in 1stC BC.  During WW1, the town was all but obliterated by artillery fire and, in 1920, awarded the Military Cross by King George V.  After the war the town was extensively rebuilt with the main square, including the Cloth Hall and town hall, being rebuilt as close to the original designs as possible.  This lecture tells the story of that rebuilding.
