About Us

Blackmore Vale Decorative and Fine Arts Society was established in 1982 as a Member Society of the National Association of Decorative and Fine Arts Societies, NADFAS.  In 2017 NADFAS. became The Arts Society and we are now known as The Arts Society Blackmore Vale. We are in the Wessex area of The Arts Society.

We run an annual programme of Monthly Lectures, Evening Lecture, Days of Special Interest and Visits.

We meet on the first Thursday monthly in Stalbridge Hall DT10 2NF between October and July at 11am for coffee prior to the start of the lecture at 11.30am.

Our highly-accredited lecturers cover a huge spectrum of fascinating topics connected with the diverse world of the arts including the decorative and fine arts. We also have Days of Special Interest which offer three in-depth lectures and a delicious lunch!

During the summer months there are often exciting visits to historic homes and gardens. Membership of The Arts Society Blackmore Vale opens up the world of arts to everyone and is a great way to make new friendships.

We are delighted to welcome new members and guests – click on Join Us for more details.  You may join at any point in our programme and currently there is no waiting list.

All of this is organised by our dedicated committee members.
