We have just learnt that Clare Ford-Wille has fallen ill and will not make Thursday's lecture.

Fortunately, Margaret, our Programme Secretary, has managed to arrange a swap with our January lecture.

This is a fascinating story of an 18th Century artificial stone which was widely used in our Nation's  freestanding statuary and monuments, architectural detailing and even garden furniture. Many of these can still be seen.

This is definitely a Christmas lecture and it will now be closer to Christmas Day than it was.
